Hiking Day 10: Santo Domingo.. > Belorado

October 11 2019

My leftovers from dinner made a pretty superb breakfast sammy this morning

I get so proud of myself when I can buy barely any groceries so as to not waste but then have two tasty meals out of them. #thelittlethings amiright?

Except, I will admit, the broccoli. I’ve been buying broccoli to get my veggies but I can’t bring myself to eat it again in the morning. Just idk without it being in an omelette (and I don’t want to buy a bunch of eggs) just seems so unappealing at 7am…

I couldn’t leave till the post office opened this morning so I could mail my shoes to Malaga. I didn’t want to haul those puppies around. As Dietz would say “damn municipal buildings and their schedules.”

On my way to the post office
Today was pretttyyyy brown. As a result, I spent a lot of today belting out Bieber and One Direction songs (when I saw no other humans around of course)
Spain knows your suffering… they have pharmaceutical vending machines around for us

Every day there’s like a small ailment to mentally deal with.

First day was cold freezing rain and just staying warm

Then came the baby toe blister

Then it was just feet feet feet

My feet became grown ups and then it was the knee child

And today it’s shin splintsssss

Me and the ladies icing after today

I keep thinking I’m just gonna have a day of miles feeling fan freaking tastic that will mark me finally getting over the hump. But alas, that time has not come yet. It’s me and like 60 year olds icing every day (where are all the young people struggling???)

Since I had a big breakfast, I had a pretty meh lunch after my walk.

So for dinner… I went pretty big

Again- did not eat the potatoes

Just realized I consumed a lot of eggs but oh well. Damn tasty. (And luckily I don’t have high cholesterol)

Tonight, Grace flies in from Sweden and I will talk to a human for more than 15 minutes for 3 days in a row. Hopefully I can socially handle it! She gets in at 1:30 am (woof). So am going to hit the hay now and set an alarm. Hasta la vista!
